Mustang Sally's abruptly closes it's doors

If you have gone to the Garden to watch the Rangers over the last 20 or so, chances are you know of or have been into Mustang Sally's. It's only a couple of blocks south of the Garden on 7th Ave.

I heard yesterday that out of nowhere the bar just closed. Even a bartender we know says nobody knew anything.

Not sure about recently but back in the day it was a great bar for Ranger fans. I was at Mustang Sally's for the game 7 Matteau goal. And some of the rangers players brought the Cup into this bar several days after they won it all.

No doubt an end of an era.

Been reading in the NTC media for a while now that the local places that people know and love are having a hard time surviving big rent increases and the desire of many developers to go more upscale.
Loved a dive bar in Soho called Milady's that was a local legend, visited town last spring and it had just shut down.
