Exactly. For a hundred grand I could take an old one and make it a plush rocket.

I'd rather drop my 100K on an old convertible Hemi Cuda or Challenger in "driver" condition and save the extra 20 grand for fuel.

400 grand for fuel. Didn't that site say the starting price was $530,000? That's totally insane. Add 20k for a red seats and carpet?

I only looked at the photos.

500K +- is crazy shit. Throw in the fact that you get an extremely low production vehicle that will leave you with parts issues and no one local who knows what the fuck is going on if you drive it and it breaks and you're basically buying a museum piece.

Fuck dat.

I have black, but I kinda wish I had Plum Crazy.

Nice.

Not sure why I confused Plum Crazy and Purple Passion. I blame lotsa beers and too many Hot Wheels cars when I was a kid.

Ehh, I'd still go Mustang. But I'd build it myself and still save $400,000.

Yeah insane price, not worth the cash for sure.. But built ground up modern with the old school style. Not the frankenstein resto-mod that really doesn't do either half well almost every time.

I certainly wouldn't buy it, but if money was no object I like.

Just saw one of these roll over the block on Barrett-Jackson.
AMC/AMX 390 engine.

I think I was the only one that liked these cars when they came out.

As posted in another thread, my 67 SS Chevelle..........

And 66 GT Mustang, which isn't really all that muscular, with a 289, but it's fun to drive and gets about 15 mpg. The Chevelle (originally a 396 c.i. car) with a 454 bored and stroked gets about 8 mpg.

I have a 2011 California Special and though an old car guy like me kind of hates to admit it, the newer muscle cars perform better, all around, than the old cars do, plus air conditioning that actually works!

There's a few cars that I really love to see at shows, but the one I've never seen is the Thunderbolt..Would love to see one, let alone own one.

1964_Ford_Fairlane_Thunderbolt_low.jpg

I was at a Mustang Car Club show in Atlanta and heard a loud and deep rumble. I walked toward the sound, and a guy was backing a Thunderbolt out of a trailer. Backed it on down and the car shook the damn ground for a good far way around it. The 428 Cobra Jet and Boss 429 engines were badass, but the oldtimers tell me that the 427 was the most powerful engine Ford ever produced.

torino .. i had a 1970 with a 351 Cleveland under the hood

I had a 69 Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland (came with a Windsor I suppose) and that was a great engine. This picture is shortly after I had the car painted and still didn't have stripes. Like a dummy, I sold the Mach 1 and this 67 GT S code (390 4 speed), and a 70 SS Chevelle, all within a couple of months. Needless to say, I wish I had them back.
