To replace Romine. Gordon came up as a SS so he could play in an emergency if needed. That is the only reason Romine is still on the team.

pretty much...just waiting for cano then...idk...maybe dfa..for romine..cuz vencej can do what he does

for what the mariners would need at this point

i like romine but i think he should start his managing career..maybe at a lower lvl...his choice of what team...the mariners could prob use him...lol...as a manager

He has to be the odd man out with Cano coming back if the Mariners are serious about contending (which I kind of doubt with them not getting Fiers) There is literally no reason for Romine to be on the team. Backup OF is set, Gordon can play SS, Cano can play 2B, 3B and 1B. Healy and Cano probably won't be as good defensively as Romine but the baseball gods laugh at Romine as he seems always comes to bat in a clutch situation and never delivers.

The Colome Span trade has turned out to be pretty damn good. Colome has been great for a while now and Span is a straight up gamer.

Dipoto takes plenty of shit around here but this is another clear win.

Ms are setting themselves up nicely with a very importance series against the As, who have seemingly finally cooled off. I will take a split against the Astros over the next two

Sounding like Ramirez will be taking Felix's spot in the rotation. I think he's had like 4 rehab starts so he's probably ready to return. Who knows with this team though. :noidea:

I'm not a fan of this as the replacement at all. There has been issue with his rehab starts everytime according to reports. Maybe the organization was just lying about his mechanics being off to figure out the Felix thing but to me it seems backwards to start a guy in Felix's spot that almost guarantees Felix with come in the game from the pen. I prefer Bergman but whatever.

Sam Tuivailala (Achilles) will likely need season-ending surgery, Mariners manager Scott Servais said Saturday.

That was sort of the expectation after he strained his Achilles tendon earlier in the week, but the surgery solidifies it. Tuivailala had only recently been acquired from the Cardinals and was set to be counted on for relief help as the M's push toward the postseason. He's under team control through 2022, though, and will have more opportunities to help the club in the future.

Ramirez has gotten shelled or run out of the game early in both starts this season... Hope he begins to pitch like he did in Tampa last season... Good time to give him a shot imo…

Awesome... The 3 stooges he traded for continue to be a great story...

Then cancel the last year of your contract and go to Miami on the cheap where you can be close to home and probably start.

Looks to me like Felix is going to go down fighting. I think there is a hell of a lot more going on than Servais led us to think in his interview about Felix going to the pen. Servais probably got set up by Dipoto to take the fall for whatever is coming their way. :noidea:

its hard to face reality....the first one about getting old...is denial

he can still start it is true....but he is a bull pen guy as well

and the farther he gets away from that arm ach the better ...bull pen wont hurt

time heals

there is no way he will give up that last year....should have been club option ...in my fantasy..lol

I take it more as he doesn't think he's done as a starter and will fight (as in get better) and earn his way back.

Maybe I'm wrong.

in the future he will be lucky to make enough to pay taxes on that last year

he has to change the.. way he pitches cuz he is not 25-26 anymore

but that will take time

that is what he does not have on his contract ....so just go..bull pen and start when they ask ya to...until you can get a good mix as an older guy

i dont think there is any doubt he can pitch ..the question is the quality of the pitches ...at this point

and how long he can last....against the hitters

He's not a reliever either... He's a middle of the innings bullpen pitcher now...

Reminds me of when Dan Marino kept on playing... He was my favorite player and it was hard to watch him play the last few seasons in Miami… He played about a year or two too long... Reality hurts...
