Drayer was saying Miller is the new center fielder. Such a fun merry go round for all!

Anyhoo, should be an excruciating start to the week.

I am still trying to wrap my head around the idea of taking a struggling hitting, bad defensive SS and making him a CF where he will still struggle to hit and will be a bad defensive CF. I am sure there is logic in there somewhere that I just can't see.

Fixed it. Gotta remember that we are the first quadruple-A baseball team.

Just got home... Tuned into the game... Pretty much what I expected... It's about time they don't let me down!

Every time he throws the baseball I'm afraid he's going to take the runner's head out or perhaps even take out one of his own guys. He doesn't have much of an arm, but they put him in CF... a position that requires SPEED to track down balls.... and he doesn't even have that.

It's like Miller is a guinea pig for this team or something. Next thing you'll see, he's gonna be a pitcher.

He does have a submarine throwing style and I know his fielders can't touch his throws so maybe the batters would do the same?

It really is a head scratcher to me. I mean if he hit like Cruz I could understand why they are trying so hard to find him a position, but he is hack even for a SS..and I liked the guy the last two years.

Yeah, this situation reminds me of Smoak... They're going to end up holding him to him too long, hoping he'll reach expectations, while stunting the growth/opportunities of another minor league to get PT at the CF position... Before we know it, we'll be trading him for a sack of potatoes...

We keep Miller, yet Ruggs was just shipped out for a bag of peanuts? Ruggs can play the OF and has a much higher on base percentage.........whatever.

The Mariner Way

According to the front office, we can't have someone setting a precedent for the team.

Makes me wonder why they would put Brad Miller in CF.

I can understand putting him at a corner OF spot, but the most important defensive outfield position? Uhhhh...

I'd rather see Guti out there.

It probably isn't long before Cano becomes another 1st base/DH type on this team. I suppose he is at least good at turning errors into hits.

The only line of thinking for me is that is a much easier transition for a SS to CF than a COF spot?

I don't think Gutis health makes him an option in CF. He may look like a decent outfielder compared to what we have (which says nothing) but he still isn't the same guy as a few years ago. Definitely doesn't have the same range.

Miller is only out there because of the lack of options. It's pretty much him or James jones out there the next month

so are some on here really thinking the m's should've extended Jackson a QO?

if so, just wow.

holding onto him made zero sense. not sure what anybody would expect to get for renting him out for a month.

if anything, should've traded him a month ago.
