I wonder if Ichiro will try and "cheat" again and put another disguise on and be in the dugout? He did it yesterday in the first inning- he's not suppose to be in the dugout during game play. I kinda f eel bad for him cuz he just can't let go :L

I don't feel bad for him. Let it go Ichiro. It's all funny until his shenanigans force us to forfeit a game or something. Get over it, your time has passed.

I wonder who would get fined? Ichiro? Servais? I would think Scott would have some kind of consequence for knowing he was in the dugout against MLB rules. The whole situation with Ichiro has been strange right from the beginning. Would like to know the whole story behind all the weirdness involved with his return to the M's.

Tonight it's Leblanc vs Steven Wright the knuckleballer. Wright was the loser in his start at Safeco, but it was a 1-0 game and he was tough on this lineup. Any advantage to already having faced him last week? :noidea: Doubtful. The nature of a knuckle ball is even the pitcher has little idea exactly where it's going to end up each time.

Leblanc was dialed in with his last start against Boston going 7.2 innings of shutout baseball. Does he have it in him to do it again on the road at Fenway? :noidea:

I dont understand the story here so its against MLB rules for him to be in the dugout? but I thought he was apart of managment wouldnt he be allowed to be in the dugout?

I feel bad for him in a sense that all his prime years were spent carrying a useless team and organization and he would like to be apart of the team. As far as I know about him coming back is that he would like to be apart of the team in 2019 for the opener in Japan, Mariners vs A's. It would be a good ending to his career to start in Japan and end in Japan.

As far as I can tell, he is considered front office staff and not management or coaching, but for whatever reason, MLB states he is not to be in the dugout during game play. He has been involved in pre-game batting practice activities and then goes into the club house and watches the game on TV. I just think it has been strange how this thing has played out since his return is all and I am not taking sides as to whether or not he is getting screwed or not getting screwed by the organization OR the fans. I understand he will return to the line up in 2018 to play that game in Japan and then I guess he retires? :noidea: It is what it is I guess....and that's the name of that tune. :noidea:

I am pretty sure there is a numbers limit on how many can be in the dugout during the game.

That may very well be true NWinAZ but I did read on 2 different occasions where it specifically stated Ichiro was not permitted to be in the dugout during game play. Since he was in disguise and in the dugout, it doesn't seem that there would be a number limit in the dugout. I thought it strange but just figured since he was not a player and not a coach he must be considered a front office executive employee and MLB rules prohibit an organization's executive employees from being in the dugout during game play.

There can only be players and coaches in the dugout and you can only have certain number of coaches to my knowledge outside of September so that is what actually limits the amount of people in the dugout. If that wasn't the case, they would just call him the BP (batting practice) coach and he would be legal, but that isn't how it works.
