I know Gamel is the big surprise of the year but I remember every analyst saying Dyson couldn't be an every day player. I truly didn't know anything about him other than a speed threat.

I don't know his contract, if it's a one year do they re sign him? I know Jerry has the OF of the future, but Lewis is involved so one is going to be expendable in the off-season.

Servais doesn't have the gonads to do such thing. He does his usual chirping then turn away and all is good. It almost cost the M's the damn game.

He is a free agent at years end, but we really don't have extra OF's for next year if we let him walk. We have Haniger, Heredia, and Gamel obviously coming back but then it goes down to Boog "I am one pea test away from being banned for a year" Powell and Martin who is Arb eligible then FA. I guess you can also add Motter to the mix, but he should be viewed as nothing more than a utility guy. Then it jumps down to Bishop who just went up to AA. Love the kid, but not sure if he is ready. Then if you look at their top 25 guys not already mentioned, there is only 1 rated OF over 21 and that is Ian Miller at #24 and I believe he just moved up to AA as well. So I guess you either re-sign Dyson or go sign a free agent who would probably cost more and be unproven in Mariners regard.

Leonis Martin might be the best trade deadline addition in baseball so far this year. Can't think of anyone doing better. Maybe JD Martinez. I guess you don't always have to look outside of your own organization to find a good player.

Of course, eventually he is going to remember that he is just Leonis Martin. But until then, let's enjoy it.

I was ragging on Diaz a few weeks back lecturing one poster about over-rating Diaz and his fastball. Since then, in 11 appearances, Diaz has a 1.63 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and has successfully converted 8 of 9 save opportunities.

Well, not to brag or anything, but I helped out Cano too. Ripped him for his lame ass uninspiring continuous ground outs to second base, and he responded with three doubles and five RBI over the last couple games.
