In case I get busy at work tomorrow and don't have time to waste on SportsHoopla, I figured I'd post this now.

Mariners coming off of a 2-1 series win against the Mets. Once again sitting at .500. Have we gone above .500 yet this year? I'm honestly not sure. I feel like every time we reach .500 we fall a few games back.

Tuesday, August 1 at 5:05 PST: Erasmo Ramirez (4.80 ERA 69.1 IP) v. Yu Darvish (4.01 ERA 137 IP)

Wednesday, August 2 at 5:05 PST: Ariel Miranda (4.31 ERA 121 IP) v. Andrew Cashner (3.48 ERA 101 IP)

We're facing the beef of the Rangers rotation. Let's hope they trade them all off by the deadline. Would make this series a tad easier.

I always refer to things I enjoy doing as a "productive waste of time"

If we ever field a dominant team, these boards won't be as fun, we wouldn't have anything to complain about anymore!

This is the first time I've looked at Darvish's numbers all year..... very surprising.

Either way, that was a hell of a solid performance yesterday, but you know what that means? They pretty much set themselves up to fall a couple of games back. Have seen it repeatedly, falls back a few times after doing something spectacular the day before.. Hoping this is not the case but this over .500 phobia shit is real.

I've got to say it, Felix looks out of shape and doesn't look like he really even cares anymore. It's a sad sight.

I thought the same thing about his conditioning when they just showed a close up of him on the mound.

The other thing that has always bothered me about Felix (I think I have mentioned it on here before) is that I never can understand an elite player wanting to continue playing for a perennial losing team. It is as if he is comfortable with his environment and that always bothers me with elite athletes. Every player wants to win, winners go the extra mile to make sure they win. Cano is the most talented, but doesn't go to the next level to win in my opinion. Then you take a guy like Heredia who is limited in talent, but does everything he can to try and win. Watch him out of the box. No matter what kind of contact he puts his head down and runs like mad to 1B. In the field he will run through walls while Cano won't bend over and reach to his side for a ball on the ground. Very talented though, not necessarily a winner.
