I want to say Derek Jeter's catch on a pop up where he needlessly dove into the stands.

But I will say Carlton Fisk's homer in game 6 of the 1975 World Series.

What was so significant about that homer? All it did was force a game 7 that the Reds went on to win.

Only notable thing about it was Fisk waving his arms like a spaz down the first base line.

As iconic as it was in Braves history, Sid Bream's slide is kind of overrated because we went on to lose the World Series.

All of Willie Mays' 'basket catches' that were unnecessary.
Andruw Jones has 7 seasons with higher defensive WAR ratings than Mays' best season, but he rarely left his feet or played to the crowd.

Pretty cheap IMO.

Good thing it was the year I was born.

But still, Lonnie Smith's baserunning in that series....

:L:L:L

The Braves dominated that series except for The dome and a couple of cheap plays.

Eh, given the last few years, I'd love to be able to bitch about a play fucking us over in the World Series.

Trying to figure out how a Series with FIVE one run games was dominated by the losing team...

Teams that lose the WS tend to not dominate the WS.

It was before my time, but I have watched the whole thing on MLB Network, and it was one of the best and most competitive World Series of all time.

That's like saying the Yankees dominated the 1960 World Series since they outscored the Pirates 40-27 despite losing in 7 games.

I hope you're not referring to Mays' over the shoulder catch in the 54 World Series. He covered a shit ton of ground to get there, and that ball is a home run in every park today.

Andrew Jones would have made that catch look very easy.
