Right, but when you only view less than 5% of the critics who reviewed the film, and the ones you view were handpicked by the movie executives, who obviously want to cast it in a positive light, you can't really make any assertions on the type of actual reviews it's gotten.

Yeah true those are the ones probably hand-picked by the movie.. Just from experience a lot of times when critics say they love something it usually does suck

So, as of today (this movie snuck into a couple of theaters here) Rotten Tomatoes has the critical rating of the movie at 47%, so of ALL of the reviews, over half were negative. Audience members rate it at 95% positive.

Metacritic, another aggregator has 'The Promise' at 49%.
