So, since NBA is next and we're in the middle of the college draft, I have an idea for a quick one.

4 rounds. We don't pick players, we pick colleges. No high school players will be eligible. You pick 4 colleges and build the best team (10 players, everyone plays 1/2 the game, you must use at least 2 players from each school) from their alumni.

Don't you think whoever picks early has a huge advantage?

How about we pick by college. So when you pick a player you list what college they played for (high school to pro players are ineligible). You cannot pick from the same college. 10 players- 2 lineups. Each lineup plays 2 quarters.

Ex: MJ - UNC (you cannot pick James Worthy as any pick)

Although, since we are doing non-high school to NBA players I think MJ should be left out of this draft

But that's not what I was saying...

Exactly. With your idea I feel like the top picks will get the top teams. If we do your idea there should be a max number of players from each college or we pick more colleges...

I haven't done the exact math on it. I would think there are a few worthy teams, then a bunch of middle of the road teams. Maybe we could do decades? 80s UNC, 60s UCLA?

Maybe do 6 colleges and use 2 players per college?

So we are drafting 12 players?

What about an all ABA draft?
I'm just throwing out ideas. Maybe 5 colleges and reverse the order of the 3rd round since you guys are saying that the early picks are gaining too much of an advantage?

I would be down for it. Realistically, we are just going to be looking at the best players and see what colleges they played for. Why do we need to reverse the order if it is a snake draft?

What about the kids who didn't play in college?
If we want to do something different, how about an under 30 draft...29 years old or younger

It would be that the guys who never attended college are ineligible.

Hmm...and I am liking the age idea. So this would be a current draft?

Yep, no specific year, just under 30 years old when draft begins
