The Cowboys have now lost their second cornerback in the last 15 minutes.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Morris Claiborne is signing with the Jets.

With Brandon Carr heading to Baltimore, it’s a double hit for the Cowboys, who were expecting free agent losses this offseason since they’re so tight against the salary cap.

Claiborne had some interest from the Ravens as well, but goes to a spot where all he’ll have to do is fill in for some guy named Darrelle Revis. (The way Revis played last year, that’s not going to be that hard. But thematically, the point stands).

Yep no spinning the losses any more. They are starting to sting. I thought for sure we were targeting at least one of them. I guess it's all about the $$$ now. I thought we could lure some back because of possible Super Bowl.

Carr more of a loss than clayburn. Carr actually played. Looking back though neither was any good at creating turnovers.. I happen to really like brown. I think the Cowboys will bring in a few veterans late in the summer. Cry all you want about losing these players, but for the most part MO was invisible and Carr did not create turnovers. The worst loss I have seen so far is leary. Dunbar another player that was always hurt. Church was slightly above average. Cowboys are adequate on the DL and LB. Cowboys need to draft secondary early and often.

Perhaps they love Romo as much as you do, and didnt want to be a part of any Cowboy team that didnt have Tony Romo on the roster? :noidea:

Pretty disappointing that the Cowboys, as good as they were last year couldn't retain more of their FA's. I don't care how bad off we all thought we were, it appears we will be significantly in a worse spot.

Lots of holes to fill and to think we could draft enough players to fill the spots of the guys we lost and those rookies, be upgrades is highly doubtful. Cowboys lost this FA period and its not likely the draft will make up for it. Not enough out there still in FA to really add depth either. We end up with Carroll in the secondary and he's considerably worse than the guys we lost.

Not trying to be a downer but this team already needed quite a bit of talent upgraded on defense and they lost Carr and Mo who were at least looking pretty good last year. Losing both stinks IMO.

Gotta be more to it than all these guys leaving for the money too, it seems?

I thought the same thing about the money. They did not exactly break the bank with their contracts. I'm not a draftologist like some. I mainly watch the SEC. From reading though, it sounds like this draft if full of DBs. I get the Rookie thing and experience though. We clearly have work to do

Jerry Jones can barely afford his usual supply of viagra with the cap on that team. The Cowboys were not going to sign ANY of their free agents let alone any other notable ones this season. This should be ZERO surprise to anyone with half a br---.... k that's a bit harsh, a quarter of a brain.

Nobody said anything about them adding any notable FA's, everyone knew that wasnt happening but McFadden and Terence Williams dispel your stupid statement? Keep up the good work there genius.

But we give Terrance Williams 4 million a yr. Although I think that's a fair price, we are talking about a guy that catches 40 passses a yr. A 4rth option on a running team. Those DBs signed for less than that. I think
