3 years 45M, 19M guaranteed to a guy who hasn't started since 2014.

What the hell is Pace thinking.

Bears are releasing QB Jay Cutler, per @AdamSchefter. Cutler asked for and was granted his release this morning.…pic.twitter.com/8mZDrGN…

Well, he did not want to compete with Glennon for the job I guess ;P

So Glennon is our guy now? I've barely even heard of the guy. WTF.

Well, yourself not being aware of the younger/available QB's on the market, isn't exactly the Bears fault. lol

Started 18 games for the Bucs in 2013 and 2014.

I feel like we signed an awful QB to a decent contract.
we signed a QB at the going rate who apparently had no other GM's interested so I am assuming the bears bid against themselves.

No fault to this kid, Freeman, Winston, Lovie defense wins contracts. My concern is what development has he been given, and who is here to continue the development.

I actually heard a comparison that Glennons game is like Eli Manning. Those same people said that the comparison for Connor Shaw is Drew Brees. I always wanted to get Drew Brees.

Being around Jamies has probably made him skronger.

off a different board

This is 100% pay as you go deal. He can be cut after next year with very little cap hit.

$3M signing bonus.

2017 base $8M (guaranteed), roster bonus $5M
2018 base $12.5M, roster bonus $2.5M
2019 base $12M, roster bonus $2M

signing bonus is split 1 million each year, 2018 roster bonus is guaranteed, so if he shits the bed or gets beat out in camp, its a one year mentor deal like he did with Winston and let him go for 4.5

I wouldn't worry much. If he can barely produce up to par in New England. I don't think he'll fair much better in GB.

He'll be hyped up in fantasy, and wind up disappointing. Rodgers TE's never put up big numbers.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

I was not overly excited over the Glennon signing.

I heard some of the press conference with Glennon and Wheaton.
I must say, the fact that he has reviewed tape, has already contacted some of his offensive teammates, and handled himself in the press conference like a leader has given me some optimism.
Wheaton too seemed like a "leader" in his comments without the normal politically correctness cliches. It was refreshing.

You watched some highlights on him? I know highlight reels are purposefully designed to show only the plus-plays, but the more I see. The more impressed I am. He moves a little better than I seem to remember as well. Certainly never going to run, but there's plenty of film of him getting out of the pocket and throwing on the run.

Dude still had 55 catches, 700 yards and 7 TDs in an offense that already had Gronk for five games and favors more quick timing routes with slot receivers.

I personally think the dude is a beast and will do well with Rodgers. The only negative I really see is his age, but he doesn't seem like that's slowed him too much.

You know he'll wanna go off against the Bears twice a year.

Physically, he's a beast, but he's a half ass kind of player and we all know that. He has the traits to be one of the best to ever do it, but the guy has shit for brains.

That stat line you just gave is the story of his life. Glimpses of greatness with a few impressive performances, but disappeared just as, if not more often.

Plus, we all know that offense isn't exactly huge on using TE's a whole lot in between the 20's. They're more of a check down/red zone option.
