It's not out of the question, but how impressive is that if it happened? That's just crazy. It's never been done before....With the likes of Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, Rodgers Hornsby, Ty Cobb, Frank Robinson...


I think Ted Williams might have had a good chance but think he went off to war in the middle of triple crowns if I'm not mistaken.

Don't know if anyone has noticed, but Davis has been stuck on 46 HR for a week. He's also starting to make less contact. His BA was over .330 at the All-Star break, and is now down to .304. And his whiff rate is going up. 156 Ks for Davis, and he'll easily pass last year's career high of 169 whiffs.

The only thing that will keep Miguel from passing Davis, IMO, is if the Tigers clinch early and rest him from that point forward.

Any issue with him getting the intentional pass later? Until Prince produces more, this could be the reason he doesn't catch Davis.

IMO if Leyland wants to protect Miggy move Martinez up in the order and Fielder down.

Not a knock on Fielder his stats are down and the divorce appears to be weighing heavily on him. This flip flop would offer miggy better protection IMO.

I dont know.....if it aint broke, dont fix it.....we been winning and we did score 6 runs last night.....if vmart had more power....maybe.....also prince is big boned lol, but nowhere as slow as miggy and vmart.....them two back to back are like watching to turtles race around the bases. Gotta put the speedster prince inbetween the two.

I like the fact V Mart is a switch hitter. Can't play the lefty righty after Miguel with V Mart. It's pretty plain to see Fielder's head isn't right. His splits this season are way down. He is still dangerous but with V Mart stinging the ball as he has the second half I would give it a try to see if it keeps teams from pitching around Miggy as I think they will from here on out when runners are in scoring position!

They walked the bases loaded to get to Prince! That alone says something about how teams fear the guy.
