That double last night was impressive. It didn't even make it up the gap! Tremendous hitter who continues to improve his all around game.

Now if we can only get Santiago and Tui to do it, we could be on to something.

Tigers had Ty Cobb....never won a World Series with him. Miggy is great - offensively. He can't win every game by himself.

With Cabby leading the AL in ave, runs, rbi's, and shouting distance of HR's, made me wonder if their has ever been a quadruple crown winner. Also, in basketball you can have a double/double in several ways with any combination of steals, rebounds, and points. Would it be considered a triple crown if Miggy led the league in the unconventional categories of rbi's, ave, and runs scored instead of HR's? Just a thought.

I liked his heads up base running today, ball skipped 4 feet from Molina, but Cabby took second anyway. He never gets credit for his baserunning. But he's aggressive, by far the most aggressive on the roster, and I respect that. I also like that he wanted to kick the shit outta Fernando Rodney tonight, I like the angry aspect. Leyland might have,(no he wouldn't, he only likes anger when it involves the media, and when Kroger is out of prunes.) if he'd saw it, unfortunately, it happened during one of his naps.

We all know the damage Miggy does when he goes yard. But, what about the poor ball itself. Here is what one looked like on a recent ride out of the yard.

Probably an optical issuion of sorts, but still, I thought it was cool enough to share.

Just think if Cabrera had legit wheels.

Big props for not being a total liability at 3b! I never envisioned him lasting this long at 3b. Sorry for doubting you miggy pass me some crow!

Yes...he could have been worse. However, I would like to see him moved back to 1B next year and have him split time with Fielder at the DH spot. I think it is time for the Tigers to remake the left side of their infield....add some defense and perhaps a little more team speed. Sadly, I think more changes are needed (next year) including a new manager and coaching staff. What the Tigers currently look like is a highly over-priced luxury car that has an engine that badly needs to be completely overhauled.

Most impressive stat for Cabrera. 10 months in a row, he has driven in at least 20 runs. That is just absurd. He is like a machine right now. He is well on his way to #11 too, as he has 11 rbi's in 9 games in July.

It won't happen next year, as the Tigers still have 1 more year of V-mart's contract at $13 mill. With the season he's having, we're not going to move a pretty much DH-only guy at that price. As long as he's healthy next year, V-mart is the DH, meaning Prince and Cabby stay where they are. Maybe for 2015 your scenario plays out.

I would agree with getting a faster SS with more range, even at the expense of some pop at the plate.
