Miami's weak slap on the wrist punishment

Seriously after all those recruiting violations all they get/lose is 9 scholarships. 3 lost for next 3 seasons and they still keep wins, bowl games, and money. USC should be really pissed and I'm furious as a PSU fan. The NCAA has no set standards and seem to contradict its self every time they hand out sanctions to a University.

They did self impose 2 bowls and the ACC title game, but still a far cry from what they should've gotten. NCAA allows you to break their rules, but will punish harshly when you follow them and they overstep their bounds, go figure.

Penn State didn't get a advantage on the playing field. Ruling: Lack of institutional control = 4 bowl games, lose of wins, lose of 20+ scholarships, etc etc.

*So if Penn State self proposed sanctions on them selves they would have gotten a lessor punishment. I highly doubt that.

Britton Banowsky, chair of the NCAA Committee on Infractions and commissioner of Conference USA, said it is hard to compare infractions cases against each other but that what Miami did throughout the investigation stood out.
"Each case is unique. No doubt folks will have a difference of opinion on whether the penalties were too severe or too light," Banowsky said on a conference call. "We don't put cases against each other based on the unique nature of each case. In this case, we felt the institution's self-imposed penalties were significant and unprecedented. The level of cooperation in the case was commendable. Those were factors that weighed into the committee's thinking."

Penn State did self impose. They signed on for this shit, expected you to move on, then it would be lessened once they "fixed" a culture that wasn't broken and showed what outstanding leaders they were. There is also no public outcry to hang Miami like there was for PSU, they appeased the masses after everyone swallowed the Freeh report without reading it. Problem for them, people fought back, teh false narrative has been exposed and more info of collusion amongst the NCAA, PSU BOT, Freeh and B1G leaks weekly. Bottom line, Erickson and the scumbags who ran the executive committee or whatever the hell they deemed themselves, signed up and asked for this punishment.
