A single thread for just February since its a short month only broken up by AS weekend.

On the road vs HOU, DAL and CHA to start -- Then home vs LAC and SA. @ATL - At home vs WAS, IND, GSW end the month on a b2b on the road vs BOS and NYK

In this month a b2b to start the month. a b2b to restart the season after AS weekend -- then the next one at the end of the month. So lots of games in a short period in the month of Feb.

My birthday is Feb 23rd -- we don't play that day - still trying to figure out which game close to the date I should go to -- But it has to be one where we have a good chance to win. Don't want to get my birthday ruined by a loss.

February is almost as brutal as January was. Luckily we're tied with Chicago for 3rd place in the East (although they have percentage points on us).

As long as we stay healthy the schedule even though were facing solid teams does not concern me. If we keep up this level of play and get Hassan back soon, we will be fine. The only 2 games that I truly have concerns about are Golden State and San Antonio.....and those 2 games are at home so will not be surprised if we split.

I think we split as well (not as confident as you). And when I say split, I mean we're beating the Spurs. I give us zero shot with the Warriors.

We played Golden State really well last time so I wouldn't throw that out the window. Ran them off the 3 line and etc

As bks said, we played the GSW pretty well for the entire game until not having enough players simply became too much for the Heat. I agree with a split with the most likely win coming against the Spurs - But, if Hassan plays vs GS, it will be a much more competitive game

According to Whiteside instagram, the Heat changed its offense after the Wizards game. He was responding to a fan who suggested the Heat are better without him

"What is the reason to post dum shit like this? The heat change the whole offense after the Wizards game. I just happened to be hurt now. We on a run. Not our first. Not our last. Be happy we went on 3 3-0 runs while I played... Be happy to have both PGs back."

The stupidity of that " fan" is off the charts. Was it Andres?

Because of the timing of Johnson's surgery, the Heat are not eligible for a roster injury replacement or even an injury exception for their salary cap.

Took this part of Ira's answer to note this being the downside of TJ's injury coming when it did.

Then this part

To me, the decision whether to add another perimeter player comes down to two questions: 1. Can Gerald Green be trusted as the primary shooting guard off the bench? 2. Is Josh Richardson a serviceable NBA player at this stage? I think you work through those two questions and then go from there.

To me, the answer to the second question is just flat out NO. J-Rich is just not ready at this stage in his career -- not for the load that would be required under the current circumstances, at least. Cut either J-Rich, or Jarnell which would probably be easier to cut and not miss much and add another player that can better help this team.

Q: The Heat should just cut Chris Andersen and sign Tony Wroten. -- Six.
A: That's a lot of salary to eat when it comes to the tax. And Birdman is one of the players who previously sacrificed so he could remain in the Heat mix. It might sound logical, considering Jarnell Stokes could have more upside and actually is available to play now, but I don't think the Heat would just cast Andersen aside.

This is where that loyalty factor probably hurts the Heat because you keep a guy you probably really shouldn't --- simply because you want to stay loyal to him.

Up to the 3rd seed now by percentage points. Making some gains on an off night.

Depending on where you look , for those of you into this stuff the Heat are 6-9 point underdogs tonight against Houston for some reason -- I can only think of the fact that Hassan might be out as the only reason why we are considered an underdog in this one.

I still think we can win in his absence but our chances with him certainly increase. Heres hoping he plays - I am sure we all want to see how he fits into this newfound approach the Heat are taking now that they are healthy.
