I knew he had served and been awarded the Purple Heart, but I didn't know he has also been awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. I didn't know about the the battle where he lost his best friend and 7 other friends in his unit. They were outnumbered by an estimated 300-400 taliban to their 32-34 men. Rodriguez and his unit managed to kill about 125-150 of those terrorist. Incredible story. Eye opening for me. His story reminded me of the documentary, "Restrepo."

You guys are still whoring this story out?

On a more serious note: Has Rodriguez seen the field yet? At least on special teams?

He's seen playing time on special teams and on offense (caught a pass in the Ball St. game).

there's a reason I put post #3 in here. I know the story has been out there, so I included my reason for posting it here. And no matter how many times it has been told, it is still an inspiring story/life he has lived thus far.

FWIW, Rodriguez would have been a part of that Lunch Pail if VT had admitted him when he wanted.
