I have 25, but I'm not very confident about it. Lots of pop coming at Ol' Blue/Brown eyes tonight. Davis, Weiters, Markakis, or McLouth...... one of em is going to hurt us. Then there's Machado and Jones, and some shortstop named JJ.

Hows the odds work smitty? I put 125 on it.....Is it strait up? Trying to understand the odds system they have.

I know football and hockey odds....over and unders etc etc.....Not following the odds with our bet....

does it have to do with how many guys bet on the Tigers and how many guys bet on the O's and thats the return?

I'm cool with that......or do the Tigers have to win by more then one run.....

The odds change game by game. I forget the exact odds tonight, but Dtown was favored. It was something like 115/100 I think.

Ok, but the game is still strait up right?

If I win I just don't get 100 percent of the money bet correct?

Guess what I'm asking is as long as the Tigers win I win......Just making sure There isn't anything silly like The Tigers have to win by 1 or 2 runs or something.

You can bet the total and the over/under as well as the winner, I believe. But they are separate bets.

I found my new Rabrun and Inge.......It comes in the form of Leyland and Valverde.......Granted I've hated these guys for years but tonite was the clincher......Why the hell do we even have Smyly on the team?

I can see talent (smyly) I can also spot shit (valverde, and leyland) if DD could see it maybe I wouldn't rant so much.

That's cool. My bro-in-laws parents have a parrot. My avatar is an owl. It's a deftones album cover.

Theres alot of back ground about the owl. Since it's your AVI I'm sure you probably know all about it.

Snow Owls rock....I have some Owls in my area and they are vicious, meat eating birds but look awesome sitting in a tree or on a phone line.....I was shocked to see one on a phone line in the daytime being they are nocturnal.

I have a few acres behind me out near 30 mile road and I see some huge owls out here. I saw a giant one at about 27 and Van Dyke a couple of summers ago. So big I could not believe what I was seeing. Another time I saw one sitting on a phone line only a few hundred yards away from my back door.

In ancient Egyptian, Celtic, and Hindu cultures the symbolic meaning of owl revolved around guardianship of the underworlds, and a protection of the dead.

In this light the owl was ruler of the night and seer of souls. A misunderstanding of this necessary relationship gave the owl some negative associations with death.

It should be clear that the owl was honored as the keeper of spirits who had passed from one plane to another. Often myth indicates the owl accompanying a spirit to the underworld - winging it's newly freed soul from the physical world into the realm of spirit.

Being aware of the owl's symbolic meanings is a good way to connect with this fascinating creatures, and also become more in-tune with the owl's wisdom.

I dig it.

From Native American teachings:

Owl medicine is symbolically associated with clairvoyance, astral projection, and magic, both black and white. Owl is called Night Eagle on several medicine wheels used by Amerindian teachers. Traditionally, Owl sits in the East, the place of illumination. Since time immemorial, humanity has been afraid of the night, the dark, and the unseen -- waiting fearfully for the first crack of morning light. Conversely, night is Owl's friend.

Owl hunts its prey at night. Not only can Owl see in the dark, it can also accurately pinpoint and identify any sound. This gives it a great advantage when seeking food. Owls are the night hunters. Some native people are fearful of Owl and call its feathers "deceiver feathers." An Owl feather is silent. You cannot hear Owl when it flies, but its prey definitely knows when it strikes, for its beak and talons are razor sharp.

Is it any wonder that in many cultures Owl is a symbol for wisdom? This is because Owl can see that which others cannot, which is the essence of true wisdom. Where others are deceived, Owl sees and knows what is there.

Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, had a companion Owl on her shoulder which revealed unseen truths to her. Owl had the ability to light up Athena's blind side, enabling her to speak the whole truth, as opposed to only half truth.

Maybe Stafford should go under center with an owl on his shoulder this year with all the new starters on the OL.
