His sorry ass got suspended for 3 games (I think?) and he is falling to around the 6th round of redraft leagues. That is around the same spot that guys like Jay Ajayi, Lamar Miller, Dion Lewis, Derek Henry, Alex Collins, Kenyan Drake and most of the rookie RBs (outside of Barkley, of course). I kind of think he is a great value there. Yes, he sits for 3 games, but when he comes back, he has the potential to put up RB1 numbers. He was the #6 RB in my league last year and if you take out the games before ADP was traded and the week 17 game where he didn't play the whole game, he put up over 21.5 points per game.

I think in my main league, this guy should be a big target for me. He has the potential to have a huge impact if I can make it through my first 3 games ok. If not, he should be able to fetch a nice haul in a trade. Am I missing something? Should I target him earlier/later or am I in the right area?

Well, 6th is where I got him in Suicide - so seems about the right value. But if Collins or Miller are still there think I'd be inclined to go with one of them over Ingram. …. with Dixon and Foreman still very iffy.

Shane Vereen is going to steal all of his carries

I'm not being serious. Draft away

Really depends on these factors:

1. Who you draft in the first 5 rounds( if you have a lot of risky players you might not want him)

2. Your confidence in Kamara

3. Your confidence in the saints defense( reason for this one is the saints had everything go right last year, it shouldn’t happen again that the saints have 2 top 10 backs)

4. Who else is available when you think about drafting him.

Personally I would let someone else get him.

Why did I think it was 4 games?

Either way, 6th is value I wouldn't pass on.

think he got a 4 game ban, not that it really makes a difference - if you think he returns to the same role/production of last year, then 100% of this is all on how you think you'll do without him available that first quarter of the season.

if you go 0-4, having Ingram back might not be enough to get you to the promised land.

there are zero scenarios I can see that will have Ingram on my team - I'd rather take a chance on one of the non-Barkley rookies, and I'm not overly high on any of them right now

I know I'd really rather not go for Ingram over the guys you listed, it basically means you've gotta blow another pick on a RB that will be playing the first 3-4 weeks, instead of your starting QB or TE, or your flex, and now your basically a round behind everyone else

Its not just the 3 games, its the domino effect on the rest of the roster

Its definitely 4 games.

This is going to be league size dependent on that domino effect. Round behind at QB or TE in a 10 team league? Zero cares, imo. 14-16 team league? Its going to hurt.

That's hits the important points.
A) You'll have to draft another viable RB
B) Likely his role changes when he gets back, you can forget about those 21 point games IMO.

wells here's the nuts n bolts of it tbh...we have no clue what Ingram will do when he's back, he's been in Peyton's doghouse multiple times before, there's no assurance he comes back to see 15+ touches a game again.
But more importantly, the fantasy regular season is done, generally, in 12-13 weeks, dude's missing 4 of those. That's a LOT to just give away when the return is pretty unknown. I wouldn't touch him until the double digit rounds, if at all

If it were LeVeon Bell 3 game suspension it would be different. I see a number of guys that I would draft before Ingram on your list- most of the ones listed in fact.

I like the value. But that has more to do with me thinking that Kamara won't hold up in a featured role for very long. I could see Kamara getting hurt this season and Ingram saving the day, whether that be week 5 or down the road during the RBBC.

6th Rd... I'd do it. But I would have to see how my first 5 picks went. If I was WR heavy then I might think differently.

Very good points - Actually he will miss 5wks (1-4 then 6) counting his bye. ….

When he gets back from his suspension, he probably does very well in a milestone game for Brees. Then after the bye

@Ravens(and a 3-4 at that, Brees' kryptonite)
@Vikings
Rams(another 3-4)

Trust Ingram in those games? Ingram basically will not be anything consistent until the second half of the season, the last eight weeks.
@Bengals
Eagles
Falcons on Thanksgiving Night
@Cowboys
@bucs
@Panthers
Steelers (3-4 but less talent)
Panthers

The bold is likely a tougher game for him, but he has it much easier. Is waiting half a season worth the pick?

You can get by with other guys for 4 weeks, do not fret about that. And by the 6th you probably want to have 2 backs anyway so Ingram would be your 3rd. That's pretty nice security as the season wears on.

But with responses here I'd see if I could wait and still get him. Greedily.

Depends on how the first five rounds fell for me

And might be a risky start in week 5...so possibly not starting him until week 7 or 8 might make me change my mind.

This needs to get some legs so it drops his value.

I hate holding guys that long. But will for the right price.

the one thing in his favor is fresh legs vs worn down defenses... whenever he does start his first game...

But first 3 games after the buy are scary... @Ravens, @ Vikings and Rams...
