Well that was a huge huge 2nd inning for the Mariners. I'll take 9 runs in an inning especially when Miranda is pitching.

Gotta give a lot of credit to Miranda, outside of that first inning he did well and to make it through 6 is awesome. Gotta stop giving up runs in the first innings though.

Right when you think we look as bad as it can get, we get the Angels who look even worse. Good win, and should be the first of three. Have to sweep, should sweep, and then see where we are. The bullpen is shot so it probably doesn't matter in the end.

That's the way I see it... Our SP's are too inconsistent and with our bullpen shot/spent, I don't see getting a WC spot...

Angels on the other hand had won 5 straight games coming into the series though...

Agreed. More often than not, he's fucking USELESS. If he even DOES show up next season, I hope people boo his ass off the mound each and every time.

When they can't pitch their way out of the first, you KNOW it's GAME OVER.

I was 20 rows up in section 134 last night.

Amazing seats. Awful game. Had violent thoughts towards some Angles fans a couple of rows down who made spectacles of themselves with all of the home runs in the top of the 1st.

Fuck Walker and fuck Paxton.

They looked like garbage this series just like they have for most games recently. The pitching was horrifying.

Looking up the rest of the games this season, 26 of them as of now:

4 vs Texas...We'll stink 'em all up
3 at Oakland...They always find ways to beat us no matter what
3 at Angels...not a one
3 vs Houston...More humiliation
3 vs Toronto...maybe....oh, who are we kidding?
3 at Minnesota...We embarrassed ourselves against them earlier; why should now be any different?
3 at Houston...nope
4 vs Oakland...Can't play for pride when there's none to be had.

Basically put, we'll be lucky to get ten wins out of all this. Back to under .500 we go, thanks a pantload, team.

2-10 in their last 12 games. In those 12 games they have been outscored 81-41. The losses are no longer close games. They lost by 3 or more runs in 7 of the 10 losses and 4 or more runs in 5 of the 10 losses.

The pitching has been awful but the offense shares some blame. They have averaged 3.4 runs per game over this 12 game stretched compared to 4.7 runs per game in the 124 games prior to this stretch. In hindsight though, the offensive drought really isn't too surprising. The offense has been over-achieving for the better part of the season.
