if you look at them today (5/6), all of those stats are from before Paxton missed any starts after going on the DL.

wondering how much of a difference cishek, smyly, and the shell of felix will make when they're back.

One of the more encouraging aspects for the offense this year is that they may finally have an offense that is compatible with its home environment (Safeco Field).

While they currently rank 20th in the majors in homeruns at home they nevertheless rank 9th in runs scored at home. That's 9th out of 30 teams. Other impressive rankings for home offense:
doubles - 4th out of 30
batting average - 4th out of 30
On Base Percentage - 2nd out of 30

And their doubles and runs scored ranking would be higher if they weren't 20th in games played at home.

OBP was one of the primary goals Dipoto sought to improve so I think it is fair to say that he accomplished that goal. Now he needs to fix the bullpen and find a better trainer for the rotation.

#4 no surprise, but #30 is a pleasant one.

The Astros are 21-11/.666 winning percentage. I personally do not think they have the rotation to maintain a .666 winning percentage. But let's say they can win at a .540 clip the rest of the way. That would have them finishing the season at 92-70. So what would the Mariners have to do the rest of the season if they wanted to win the division? They'd have to go 78-52. We don't have the bullpen necessary to win at that pace. Not even close. In other words, although we have only played 32 games, it would seem that we have already conceded the division crown and are playing for a wild card.

If you watched the game last night, after Motter's game-winning double, you might have heard Sims mention that Motter has 19 hits this year and 15 have been for extra bases. That's an insane stat. In baseball, a 50-50 ratio of extra base hits to singles is very rare. It's usually much lower, even for power hitters. To give you an idea, the closest guy to him on the team is Mitch Haniger who has 12 extra base hits and 15 singles.
