Man, what is going on with Johnny Football?????? At the rate this kid is going, he will never make it to the NFL. The kid needs to slow his role.
Actually it is NCAA legal for him to do this since he owns the rights to the trademark. So he did nothing wrong.
Why did you spell his name 2 different ways?
what's the big fucking deal here? Auburn and cam newton set the precedent a few years ago. As long as johnny didnt take the money directly then no offense. so johnny's assistant gets paid, johnny sign items, and no one is none the wiser. yes ncaa you are a joke and you deserve to die.
This is all to build hype and controversy so ESPN and various other sports sites get tons of hits going in to the season. So far no one has come forward with any real evidence, even the supposed video is said to show no exchange of funds. So even if they can prove he signed a bunch of items for an autograph broker they still cannot prove he received any compensation.
ESPN reported today that he received $7,500 according to his broker.
NCAA Bylaw 126.96.36.199 prohibits players from accepting money for promotion or sale of a product or service.
So try again.
I don't see Johnny getting out of this situation without punishment. I think it would be best for the Aggies to bench Manziel until this is resolved. The Aggies cannot claim to be ignorant of Manziel signing autographs so they would put the program in jeopardy by playing Manziel while there is suspicion.
Your missing the point bsanko, ESPN is reporting lots of stuff with no evidence. Here's an article detailing it fairly well:
ESPN Breaking Basic Journalism Rules On Johnny Manziel? | Last Word On Sports
I disagree, A&M has not received a letter of inquiry from the NCAA which means no actual investigation is taking place at this time. Until the NCAA sends A&M a letter of inquiry which is the first step of an NCAA investigation then A&M should be free to play Manziel and not worry about forfeiting anything later. At this point it is only ESPN pointing fingers, and citing questionable sources who openly claim they will not cooperate with the NCAA.
They won't cooperate with the NCAA cause they know that TAMU will sue the shit out of them. They are just butt hurt over the money they lost when the Manziel family trademarked his name.
ncaa major joke, merely swanky slave labor. " They are paid, with scholarships, housing , and food." Just don't leave the plantation without permission. They are getting wise to their non- monopoly by canceling ncaa video games. Reminds me of how the Olympics changed their "amateur status".
