Yeah, unfortunately the Phillies are a little short on pitchers, plus they might be afraid to give that much up for him when they know he could be a free agent next year.According to sources around here, the Orioles want 2 MLB ready pitchers (with a few years of control) plus 2 prospects.
And, I did say that's what they WANT. What they want and what they get may be two different things.Yeah, unfortunately the Phillies are a little short on pitchers, plus they might be afraid to give that much up for him when they know he could be a free agent next year.
But I will say that all the pitchers the Phillies have have a couple years of control.
Ruf, Rupp, and Buchholz should be able to get it done.Crawford, Franco and Vinnie V for Manny. Who's in?
You're talking crazy. Rupp is a fixture for the next 12 yearsRuf, Rupp, and Buchholz should be able to get it done.

Franco is home in Dominican R learning to hit the ball up. He currently hits too many grounders. This couldMachado is very good but Now at .259/.329 I would hate to trade young players on the way up for a guy possibly on the way down. He hit 8 more homes than .230 Franco. Wait, Franco’s been on the way down for three years! Galvis and Franco for Manny and throw in future great Mark Appel.

help. Maybe he should crouch a little. I do not think it will change much since he is not a good student.
Phooey!Shucks!
He had an off year (for him) but Machado is still only 25 so I don't think this is a signal of his decline. He's a guy you could plug in at shortstop and be set for the next 7 years (if you could extend his contract). Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about some of our young guys like Crawford and Kingery but even best case scenario, are we expecting them to be as good as Machado?Machado is very good but Now at .259/.329 I would hate to trade young players on the way up for a guy possibly on the way down. The real problem is the money he would expect. Which will be too much! Low batting average and low OBPHe had an off year (for him) but Machado is still only 25 so I don't think this is a signal of his decline. Phillies got stacks of cash. But it doesn't look like it is going to happen anyway so I'll be content to wait on Crawford and KingeryThe real problem is the money he would expect. Which will be too much! Low batting average and low OBP
makes him overvalued.
