no surprise, really. He grew up around there and wanted it. I feel for TU because it has been pretty much a stepping stone for BB coaches in the past and it really has some decent BB history.

Its a risky hire for Wake as Manning doesn't have that much experience as a head coach, but he already has a better resume than Jeff Bzdelik, so he has that going for him.
I definitely think he has the ability to be a successful coach at Wake and the fanbase is already more supportive of him than they ever were of Jeff Bzdelik.

the only 3 that stayed long enough to be fired or stepped down were JD Barnett, John Phillips and Doug Wojcik. Funny thing, Tom Izzo was hired by Barnett to be the recruiting co-ordinator, but left within a couple of months to go back to East Lansing to be an asst coach. What might have been?
