I'm willing to give Gil Dobie & Washington credit for their minor undefeated seasons from 1912 through 1917 when they were only playing six or seven games - and some of those were against high school and club teams. Prior to 1912, football was still a developing hybrid sport with some elements of rugby & some of soccer, with changes almost every season - and some locales playing by different rules than others.

1912 is the year that modern college football began, but UW was hardly playing a major college schedule back then. And what they - or any other team - did back then hardly has any affect on how they are currently perceived.

Right?
Like do you think any school would pitch "we were undefeated for 9 season in a row back when your great great great grandfather was alive. that string of undefeated seasons over 100 years ago is what we hope will bring in the best talent today."

Careful now, you guys are going to get the Michigan fans upset with that kind of talk.

People take offense to this guys opinions of their programs?

Stay tuned for my list of programs where I use the typical "top tier" "middle tier" etc to categorize them and not some cute little roundtable pizza categories.

Stop lying. The Huskies don't have Natty's. They spilt the title w/ The U back in '91. So since you insist that Washington has multiple Natty's exactly which years other than '91 did they win it all?
They still have .1/2 a national championship last I checked :noidea:

FBS Football

And if you look at their trophy.Im pretty sure they got it at McDonalds

Why is Nebraska listed under both kings and barons?

West Virginia in there twice also. Stanford is in the second group. I don't get that at all. Not sure I agree with Georgia in that second tier. I might be projecting there, but they have access every advantage to be in that top group. Clemson seems high. They are certainly building something there, but historically that seems high

Bad copy and paste. They are crossed off in the Kings portion of the article.
WV is crossed out of the Barons.

Yeah this list makes no sense.

Nebraska is a baron, as well as Texas A&M????

REALLY? Nebraska should be in the King category, and A&M is at BEST a knight

How can North Carolina be in any sort of hierarchy?
They set up a special hierarchy, made available specifically for their inclusion, which required only one cut-and-paste plagiarized paper to receive credit.
