I'm a connoisseur of baseball memorabilia and to be honest that is kind of pedestrian. I have one of Francouer taking ball 4, which is extremely rare

LOL

Frenchy definitely had the belief that he was not going to walk off the island, that's for sure...

Unless the Tigers won today while I wasn't paying attention, three is the magic number. That guarentees <100 losses.

I never heard that song before.

Wow, what a horrible song. How did you ever know to look for it? Were you aware of it before? Yikes.

This Giants/Phillies/White Sox race is shaping out to be a fun one...
Actually I just put that on there because I'm excited about Hoskins but if the Giants and White Sox are at 20 then 17 seems about right for the Phillies

The baseball draft is even more of a crapshoot than other sports though. A top 3 pick should help any team but it seems like it is rare that there is one player that stands out. I guess maybe Bryce Harper was an obvious pick

Giants are at 20, Sox are at 23. Yes, the Phils are at 17...

For some perspective...

2015
Swanson (+)
Bregman (+)
Rodgers (-)

2014
Aiken (-)
Kolek (-)
Rodon (+)

2013
Appel (-)
Bryant (++)
Gray (+)

2012
Correa (++)
Buxton (+)
Zunino (+-)

2011
Cole (+)
Hultzen (-)
Bauer (+)

2010
Harper (++)
Taillon (-)
Machado (++)

2009
Strasburg (+)
Ackley (+)
Tate (-)

2008
Beckham (-)
Alvarez (-)
Hosmer (+)

So basically, even with a top 3 pick, you really only have about a 60% chance of getting a solid player. Maybe about 25% of getting a STUD. About a 30% chance of getting a dud.

Things aren't looking great for Kolek. He had TJS last year and his return did not go well (14 BB, 1 K, 3 HBP, 9 wild pitches in 3.2 innings in the Gulf Coast League).

I completely forgot about Donavan Tate.
