Mack has been good but not great.

He's really choked when he had those high seeds the last few years. I know as a Villanova fan that's kind of the pot calling the kettle black, we broke through at least once. But it's part of the game.

Louisville is a great job. Better I think than UConn.

If he wants $$$$$ he will. Like I said in another thread, that P5 football money is a honey pot for other sports. It provides the cash for eerrrrryyyyyybbbooodddy. Hard for an institute that doesn't receive that P5 football type money to compete with the salary offers. Unless they have a Phil Knight or T. Boone Pickens type that is willing to fund such on their own or a group of such boosters.

Question for the coach becomes, "Do I want a lot of money to take a basketball job at a 'more difficult to win P5 football school' or do I want one of the top jobs at a lower level tradition rich basketball school"?

But, Louisville is a tradition rich basketball school.

Sounds like Hurley chose the latter...unless UConn could match the money Pitt was offering.

But I think they’re on the path there, and I think there’s enough schools blocking them from the acc that the b10 is their only power 5 option.

Yeah there was some change in formula or something. I don’t know all the details but somehow having a hospital and dental medical school didn’t help us.

He already reloads a capable at X. He’s fucking untouchable there and can basically just keep getting contract raises when teams like UL call every year.

Struggle at UL, they got no loyalty to you. Get axes within 4 years.
