I don't think so, many names will be pushed around, but those good ole boys would never go outside their happy hunting grounds, and I don't believe Luck would survive very long in that hotbed of alumni. It takes a very different kind of person to deal with those guys.

My money would be on Bowlsby. He's stated in the past that he doesn't want to remain the Big XII commissioner. It would certainly get him out of that role if he was the guy.

This likely will also mean the end of Mack Brown's tenure...

I agree, and it would be an excellent lateral move for Bowlsby!

I am torn, I really do not like a lot of what he has done, but to change horses in the middle of the river would not be good.

You would love nothing more than to get rid of HCDH and Luck. You would want to bring Pastilong back as AD and a local Pee Wee football head coach.

Hey, you never know. I really doubt it if for no other reason that an AD today is more of a corporate attorney than anything having to do with athletics. Anything is possible though.

And what you talk about is Mountaineer football? I have not seen you talk about Mountaineer football, just, as you put it, pour piss on the program. No different than what you do.

Mad, Dad, can you both quit thread crapping?

Mac - you've thrown out a few gems in some of these threads as well. I am responding to something directed to me.

I admit I bit on the childish antics. I forgot rule #1.

It could happen, but I would be mildly surprised if Luck took that job...yes he did his post graduate work at Texas......but he is a Mountaineer!...

I think he knows there is still plenty of work to do in Morgantown...in Austin they have all they need its about pasifying a spoiled alumni base...who wants that friggin job...

I would not be surprised if Luck takes the Texas job. For one, it has to be one of the premier athletic departments in the country. He and his family have lived in Texas for a number of years. He is close to the Texas athletic department.

Secondly, as a result of John Raese's attack on Luck in the media and the lawsuit, there has been a division among boosters supporting the cause. Raese isn't going away any time soon.

I could see Luck easily accepting the job if offered.

Being a Mountaineer means exactly NOTHING!!!!! The reason I would see him NOT taking the Texas job is just what you said Slaton, NOT dealing with the spoiled boosters that want more say, WVU has a few, like Kendrick and Raese, but Texas has THOUSANDS just like them. Whatever he does, I wish him the best.

I hadn't considered the WVRC suit and entire mess over the third tier rights bidding as playing a factor. I don't think that in and of itself would make Luck go, but Texas does have the #1 athletic department in the NCAA. (Going by biggest budget) Adding the lawsuit to the fire only pushes him closer...

Hum, now I think he would be more likely to go than stay. (Flip from 40/60 to 60/40)

WVRC will lose their case...bet money on it.

What is happening in the boosters is interesting....more young blood if you will and they do not want to see WVU go backwards, so my sense is that they are tired of the press on this situation, but that has done nothing to damage the support they have of luck. I am not big money booster by any means, just a guy who listens to others involved who are....lol
