This is perhaps the first time in awhile that I can go into the off season with some real optimism.

We're returning 14 of 22 starters, 40 of 53 people that got game time in the bowl.

We finally got over the hump against Miami and UGA.

Our recruiting class still only looks to be ranked about 40...

But I am actually positively looking forward to the 2015 season.

There is alot to be optimistic about. The only thing I caution is the amount of turnovers we gained. I mean really - how many did PITT have in the 1Q? Can't count on that again. Also UGA turnovers - 2 barely forced at the goal line. Won't happen next year.

Now, having said that, I am so stoked for next year. I can positively say that we play AT LEAST an adimirable schedule as we have the Mutts and Irish to go against on 9/19. And they have Texas and UVA prior to that, so there won't be alot of prep time. I like our chances at the moment.

We are up and I honestly non-homerishly do not see us dropping down in 2015. We come away with AT LEAST 10 wins again.

Yeah, you can't count on turnovers. I am pleased in our progress. 2 years ago people just kinda scored on us at will. This past year people were still moving the ball on us with ease, but we would occasionally get a timely turnover. That shows some hustle and technique. Hopefully next year we can continue to improve and get to the point where we can actually stop people and force more punts.

The start of the season is rapidly approaching. I have us at 9-3 this year. We play Notre Dame, Clemson, Miami, FSU, Virginia Tech, and UGA. I'm assuming with those 6 opponents we go 3-3, and win our other games. Still very much up in the air though.

Some betting site has us at 75-1 to win the NC this year. I doubt it will happen, but it's nice to at least be in the conversation again.

There is one advantage to our schedule. If we pull it off, no one will question our resume.
