GT fans: What level of success would PJ need to have next year (in your mind) to keep his job?

For me, he needs several of the following....

8+ win regular season.

ACC Coastal Title

ACC Title

Win over UGA

Bowl Game Win

Top 30 Recruiting class

We couldn't afford him. Central Florida can out bid us.

As of Jan 10, 2014....our recruiting class is currently ranked 45. 9 ACC schools have better recruiting classes than us. Until we start pulling top 30 recruiting classes, I don't see how we will ever be better than a middle of the pack ACC team.

In the end, our recruiting class wound up being ranked 46th.

We were the 10th best recruiting class in the ACC.

And while neither of these statistics means anything written in stone....
....it still shows the writing on the wall.

Well, we're currently sitting at 8 wins with 2 games left to play. We're basically eliminated from winning the coastal and thus the ACC. But overall a good season so far.

Let's see how we do against Clemson, UGA, our bowl opponent, and in recruiting.

And we're now at 9 wins, and the coastal is back to possible. Duke has 2 more games, we need them to lose one of them.

We have a bye week to get ready for UGA. Let's hope we can make this happen....

So we're now at 10 wins, a win over UGA, and the Coastal title.

Still on the agenda, winning the ACC, and winning a bowl game. The top 30 recruiting class isn't going to happen. We've already locked in most of our recruits.

If we can beat FSU and win a major bowl game, Johnson will have gone from the hot seat to having buildings named after him.

This has been a crazy season.

Yep. This is what I mentioned in my other thread I just made. We've already had this discussion of how Paul Johnson could save his job. Yes, the magical season happened, but do we really think this is possible again? A lot of balls bounced our way that season. I just don't see how he could pull this off again. But hell, we had zero expectations going into that season, and were expected to finish in the bottom half of the ACC. So who knows really?
