Still depends on Tech. These things don't really mean much. Texas upped Orlando's pay this week also. Someone offers either of them 3-5 million per, they are gone.

Tech ain't paying him 3-5 per. And why would Riley take a huge risk in Lubbock when he's making bank as a top 5 paid assistant in Norman? Try to spin it how you want. This is good news for OU, and it will shut the chatter that he's leaving up.

If he was a head coach, at that salary, he would make more than all but 20 coaches based on 2016 contracts.

Exactly. Only real threats for HC jobs are going to be real big time jobs. Not junk like taco tech.

Tech is paying that already for Kingsbury. Why would he be interested in Tech? Maybe because he was born and raised in Lubbock and is a Tech alum. I have no idea if he is leaving, but he would be the obvious choice if Tech fires Kingsbury

Arky, Ole Miss, NCST, etc. Good for you guys but there will likely be some decent jobs open up in the off-season. No offense but if he (or any coordinator in college football) has an opportunity for a decent P5 HC gig then there isn't much you can do.

I don't think you need to be that worried about Taco. If I remember right coach bro signed a big extension so his buyout should be pretty massive. Plus I don't know that they would want to go after a hotshot assistant who is an alum right after firing the exact same type of candidate.

He wouldn't leave for NC State for sure. Maybe Ole Miss or Arly, but I'm wondering if there's something in his contract to discourage that. He does seem awfully happy here.

I could see him passing on a mid level G5 program but for someone like NCState yeah he would. It's a solid P5 school and teams like Notre Dame aren't going to hire a coordinator. He does decent there and who knows. Honestly if you guys really want him to succeed Stoops it's better if he takes a job like that. He is great as a coordinator but has no experience as a HC. Your current coach worked out well but for every Stoops there are a dozen Muschamps.

Dammit, Daboll's only making $1.2 mil. Saban needs to get his shit together. :tsk:

Hopefully next year he'll be making about $2 mil because he's proven worth it.
