Bell did send out a tweet claiming he was cutting the Steelers a break by only asking for 17 million instead of 24 million on account of the fact he was only planning on playing 12 games th is year . So that's nice

Steelers should trade him and their one to the Browns for,the one and four. Get your QB of the future and upgrade Bell with Barkley for way less cash

Puff, puff, pass.

Yeah Cleveland probably wouldn't do it without getting more

Any team that would consider giving up more than a 4rd round pick (straight up) for that moron should be relegated to the CFL.

The NFL is a passing league right now and you don't need to waste money on a RB. Sucks for Bell, but it's hard to feel bad for an asshole like him.
He is a special runner though and an excellent receiver

I'm not saying he isn't really good, I'm just saying that in today's NFL you don't need a big dollar feature RB to win. I think there are more really good players at the RB position than at any other position, so why overpay for something that is not only plentiful, but not really necessary to win SBs.

He is a great player. But, you are going to get paid over $15M for this year. STFU and play or don't sign the tag and sit home and sulk. Can't stand these whiny, entitled babies. You don't like the system then don't sign a bargaining agreement that sets the rules. Next year go do what you want, but if you think people are going to feel bad for you, you are just going to look like more of an idiot.

The Steelers should pay the man and get the antiquated, delusional and unhealthy league cannabis rules changed.

Agreed...imo the reason the Steelers are even screwing around with these tags is they realize they are in the last chapter of Ben's career and this guy is such a huge part of the OFC. If not for that IDT Bell would have gotten tagged at all.

He has a point. Look at how they reacted to Harrison going to the Pats.

He's a good running back, BUT DAM, what is he thinking ?
He's thinking, "If a Wide Receiver is franchised and gets $16M, I take 100x the pounding that those protected pussies do so I should get at least $1M more.

As much as anyone doesn't think so, I have to agree with Bell. Running backs carry the balls 10-30 times a game and take it into the teeth of the defense, they also catch anywhere from 2-10 passes.

A RB's career is probably 4-10 years shorter than a WR's.

I usually hate to hear millionaires argiung over money but Bell is definitely the league's top running back and should be paid accordingly. Still, its hard to feel sorry for a guy making 12 million dollars a year playing football
OK, pay him 8.5M per year = highest paid.

In that case why isn't he bitching about how much QB's make ? They take less of a pounding than anyone..

Bad faith negotiating... Constantly changing his demands. He's proven his maturity will never change. At this point the Steelers don't want to mess with the nucleus this close to Ben's retirement so they are "dealing" with Bell to keep him in the building. I think they'll keep the tag in place unless the right guy falls to them in the draft. But its a guarantee that this is his last season in Pittsburgh, if he plays.
