Do you really trust Buchholz over him? Pomeranz has been bad his last two starts, but Buchholz has been pitching like that the majority of the season. Pomeranz had been pitching pretty well after he got lit up by the Giants (3.35 ERA from July 25-Sep 5).

Don't know enough to answer, he may have run out of gas from what I've read.
Hmmmm, the thought of Clay

I don't trust either one of them

All I'm getting at is that Pomeranz's stats are a bit skewed by three bad starts. I'd still say he's shown a lot more than Buchholz had.

Even if Wright's healthy, I'm not sure how much I'd trust him. He had a great first half, but he was pretty lousy before getting hurt. Wright's regression was to be expected, unless you're a believer his soft contact rate is sustainable.

Even with Eduardo's stinker against the Yanks, he's had a good 2nd half. He's probably due for some regression as well (3.25 ERA, but 3.86 FIP and 4.75 xFIP), but he's still shown significant improvement over his first half struggles.

Yeah I hear ya and thanks for the stats. I just don't think Drew has done enough while with the Red Sox to warrant him being on the roster

It's just nice to be discussing Red Sox postseason rosters again.

Another strong performance from E-Rod. I imagine he'll crack the postseason rotation.

Yes and I'll have to check my options.

Seriously, I'm not so sure I want to give this cat a start in the playoffs. Of course, 2 months ago I wouldn't have entertained giving Buccholz the ball either, but..........................

Pomeranz with an encouraging start against the Rays, who have had one of the best offenses in MLB since the ASB (top 10 in wRC+ and runs scored).

So much for that idea. Crisp first home run since 2012.

sadly enough Clay was the "best" pitcher in this series for the Red Sox

Not Joe Kelly (3.2 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K)?

Gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with how Kelly's done since getting recalled in September. He may very well play a huge role in the bullpen next year. It would be great if they can bring back at least one of Uehara/Ziegler. Barnes/Hembree/Ross are fine relievers and Robby Scott looks like he could be a good LOOGY. If Carson Smith can get healthy in time, it could be a really good bullpen next year.

Out of the starting rotation for the Post Season I was saying.
