You could argue that Dak had a better season last year, but Carr has improved every year and has an additional 2 seasons of a sample size.

Fair enough. I will admit that I too think Carr is being hailed as the next great thing too early.

Yup that yards per attempt stat is a pretty damning one. I think he is 2nd worst in the league over the last 3 years combined. Some will point to the better stats since his rookie year. I can just as easily point to the talent around him improving drastically since his rookie year being a big part of the equation. He also had terrible interceptable passes stats every single year he has been in the league but has been very fortunate with dropped interceptions.

He finished with the 6th highest "failed completion percentage" in 2016. The only QB's that threw higher were Cody Kessler, Tannehil, Keenum, Flacco, and Goff.

To me he is more in that 10-16 range for QB's in the league. Not terrible by any means but definitely getting paid way more than his talent shows at the moment.

While I think Derek Carr may have been hailed a little too soon I think some of you are not looking at him objectively. Yes his career YPA is under 7, what do you expect from a 3 year QB who has started every game. Everyone does not come into the league with the supporting cast that Dak Prescott has. Last year he had an average YPA IMO but I also think that is one of the most overrated stats there is. 28 Td's to only 6 Ints and 64% completion percentage is more a telling scenario and indicitive what what the future could hold.

I'm not certain Dallas is going to win the division this year. I'd like to think they can but the Giants got a lot better and Dallas not so much, let alone the guys getting to sit.

I don't think Dak is going to be the problem though. The defense is going to be a problem.
