Came across this rumor a few days ago and wondered if anyone else had heard it.His best WWF impression of Captain Insano is about all he proved last season.

I saw that today. He'll see at least 5 practices there. Reading between the lines of Saban's comments, he's not contributing much at DE.

From what I hear he is one of the most athletically gift players on the team.

I would say it was more likely a potential goal line set up...I think they were trying to work a couple of guys in at the TE Position for the Beef Packages. Looks like he was working in T Brandon Greene too and still is, while Fanning is back on D.

We did sign some great TE's but they aren't 300 pounders, so I would say Saban was just trying to get a look at some guys who aren't starters who might be able to contribute in short yardage situations...Looks like Greene fit the bill better than Fanning.

Fanning has been suspended for violation of team rules. This is the second time he has gotten on Saban's bad side. I would be shocked if we see him in Crimson again.
