Rams average home attendance in St Louis:
2015: 52402 - dead last
2014: 57018 - ahead of only the Raiders and restricted Vikings (playing in a small temporary college stadium)
2013: 56947 - ahead of only the Raiders
2012: 56703 - ahead of only the Raiders and Bucs
2011: 56394 - ahead of only the Bengals
2010: 52922 - ahead of only the Raiders and Bucs

In 2009 the Packers played in St. Louis week 3. I attended that game. Packers fans owned the dome that day. I went with a buddy who lives in the STL area - casual fan. He was the only Rams "fan" within 15 seats of me.

Packers fans always travel well, but I was blown away that over 50% of the stadium was filled with opposing fans.

Fire Goodell.

This is all his work.

Rams should have never left St. Louis.

They should fire Goodell, but not over this...the owners have wanted a team back in the 2nd largest TV market in the country for ore than 2 decades...they finally got what they wanted.

The gate matters, but I guess to the owners those 20 mil + TV sets matter more.

I think the Rams will be fine. They're a franchise with some LA roots and once they start playing relatively well, fans will come.

The Chargers, on the other hand, may never catch on. I don't understand why the owner wanted to move to LA so badly when there is really no fanbase there whatsoever.

Jerry charges $75. So figuring in cost of living indexes, $100 is a steal.

I guess.

What's worse - no mass transit in Arlington. It's one reason I haven't been to a Cowboys game at the Death Star. The ridiculous ticket prices being the other.

I've been to 8-10 HS games there. Parking is free and tickets are $10. More in my wheelhouse.

Yup. The #1 worst problem with the Death Star (and the Rangers' stadium) is that they are all the way out in Arlington. This forces everyone to drive out there, pay for parking, and suffer the asswhip on the roads coming and going to the games.

There is no mass transit of any sort. Worse yet, there's a goddamn train rail that connects Dallas and Ft Worth. No stop in arlington tho, it runs through irving and north around arlington.

Yeah, LA shouldn't have got more than 1 team. As big a city as LA is they're not a 2 team NFL market. Got to think the Chargers are out of there as soon as they can.

LA + NFL = FAIL

Week 2 attendance

Chargers - 25,381 / 30,000 = 84.6% capacity
Rams - 56,612 / 93,607 = 60.5% capacity

For relational reference:
2017 NFL Football Attendance - National Football League - ESPN

I think we as fans and the owners know the history of LA and their fan support or lackthereof for NFL teams.

But...they still moved back so that probably means they think they can make it work this time or they really don't care that much about the gate. I think they would be foolish to build a 90,000+ new stadium so when the new stadium is complete they will probably do better than 60% capacity.

To your point...nothing has really changed in LA when it comes to NFL fans.

I'm one of those transplants that people like to talk about. And yeah, I'm not going to switch teams at this point, but I was glad to see LA get one team. There were still Rams fans here, but I think they would have been better off letting them get re-established before bringing in a 2nd team. I guess the timing with the SD deal wouldn't allow that.

Another mistake they made was the didn't fire Fisher before they moved. Should have been the first move. Might have been able to bring in Gase. So sucking ass last year didn't exactly help.

I still like the direction the Rams are headed. Young, talented, and building something. Most hope I have seen out of this franchise in 15+ years. It's been pretty dull for over a decade, but this coaching staff has the players buying in.

Many more weeks of football ahead for this season.

That's true. The owners wanted it as much as Goodell.

Well at least the owners are not as a whole. Not the ones who were in the committee who voted to keep the Rams in STL.

Yeah, there are some old guard owners who probably voted to keep the Bills and Jags in their respective towns as well...meaning they probably don't want to see any city lose a team.

As we know now, STL was in trouble as soon as Kroenke took full control of the franchise.

Do you know how you secure a loan like that?

By having assets.

Back to square 1. It was Stan's daddy in law that made it possible.

Really irrelevant argument though.

Yeah, considering most of these asshole billionaires bilk large chunks of money out of the public and he isn't, it's super fucking irrelevant.

Well there was a committee that's used to see if there should be a vote for relocation and that committee voted against. But the NFL is corrupt so...

Kinda unfair to compare a couple recent transplant organizations to one of the most historic and beloved sports franchises in the country, but the Green Bay Packers sold out Lambeau Field for a pre-preseason scrimmage.

Note:
[#2] Los Angeles metropolitan population = 13,310,447
[#157] Green Bay metropolitan population = 318,236
Well you do have to admit there is more to do in Los Angeles, than Green Bay. Some people want to do other things, other than go to a NFL game.
