It takes place in France 15 years after the fall for Acre. This isn't going to end well for the Templars.

Yeah, the events of Friday October 13, 1307 is the origin of the doom & gloom superstition regarding Friday the 13th.

It is said that the similar events depicted in Star Wars episode 3 when all the Jedi Knights were killed in one day is based on the destruction of the Knights Templar by King Philip of France on Friday Oct. 13, 1307.

I guess that's why the show is titled Knightfall.....because the series is going to depict the events leading to the fall of the Knights Templar.
