Well, Kirk's been saying all week he would talk about this FA stuff Friday.

Wonder if he gives us a "I'll be taking my talents to............,"moment, proclaims his extreme desire to be a Redskin for life, or says absolutely nothing and gives us more PC answers.

Maybe tomorrow we'll know something.

I wouldnt hold my breath. Kirk will be cordial, politically correct, and not burn a bridge he might need to come back across.

He will make it clear he wants to be where he is wanted. But thats its not just about money. He will also point out that at present the ball is in Bruce Allen's court, and its up to the team to decide where they want to take this.

Kirk if nothing else, has a killer poker face.

I just need to hear that he is honestly open to working a LTD. Even if I have to read between the lines to hear that. This is draining the franchise and the fanbase. Even if he came out and said I love the fans, they are the best, but after much prayer, I feel it's best for all involved if we go our separate ways. At least this would be behind us......nah Bruce would then just slap the 34m FT on him out of spite.

You are not going to hear any major revelations. He is going to say that he loves the team, his teammates, the fans, etc but it is not up to him at this time. The FO needs to make an offer.

If I were Grant or Danny, here are some of the questions I would ask.

1. Has there been any contact between your agent and the team since Sunday and has any formal offer been made?
2. It has been reported that last year you would have turned down any offer from the team. Is that true? Did you ever get a formal offer and did you ever counter any offers?
3. You have said that this year was an evaluation period for both you and the team. So how did your evaluation of the franchise turn out? What did you discover? Is this an organization that you would like to be associated with for the rest of your career?
4. Rank the following criteria when deciding on who to sign with:
Culture
Competitiveness (team talent)
Coaching staff
Money (contract value)
Location
5. Is there ever a point when one player's contract is such a drag on the team cap that it hamstrings the team from signing other talent? What % of cap do you and your agent see as the maximum for any one player?

This is an opportunity for Grant and Danny to make a name for themselves in the DC market. They need to be direct and tough, but fair. Recognize you will never get specifics as he is in the midst of a contract negotiations. But don't treat him as a buddy, either. Ask some tough questions.

Well even if Cousins basically says nothing I applaud him for raising a few bucks for charity & giving fans the chance to interact with him directly. That is a lot more than you can say for a certain GM or owner.

Pretty much expected.

Kirk Cousins says he wants to stay with Redskins

"The short answer is yes," Cousins said. "I just feel that it's been a very positive six years. We don't have Super Bowl rings to show for it, we don't have playoff wins, but it's a privilege to play here and I've felt that for all six seasons and I'd id be foolish to say I don't want to be here. It's truly a dream come true and a privilege to be here."

From what I got, he has in no way ruled out the Skins but desperatey wants to taste true free agency and really be wooed for the first time in his life. Basically ruled out Browns and Jets. Said he wouldn't just go to a losing situation just to get paid.

Then why stay?

Stated there were times when he knew this team wasn't close, but really feels they are close to being a consistent winner.

Kirk is looking for gaurenteed money. Stated if the only gaurenteed money is in the first two years and then the contract falls off the cliff, he might as well play on the tag. Wants years and gaurenteed money so he knows he will be in a certain places for years to come.

You just love to stir the pot dontcha Shark :suds:

If this was the way he felt (not saying that is the case!), I would just as soon come out and say it. But I also understand why he wouldn’t.

Kirk:

I want to go visit with other teams and get my ass kissed.

I want the Skins to give me a bunch of gaurenteed money and a bunch of years.

I want a WR who other DB's can't run with.

Now that he knows Jay doesn't suck as a play caller and was able to create situations where even guys like Ryan Grant can look decent, he is open to coming back.

Players may have come out and said that, but not in front of a big room full of fans of the team you want to leave!
