Kings vs Coyotes Here and There

Not going so hot in Glendale. After taking a 3-1 first period lead the Kings got themselves in penalty trouble in the second and it's now 4-3 Coyotes.

Different story at Staples Center though. In the second period it's 2-0 Kings.

End of 2 periods at Staples Center and it's still 2-0 Kings. Goals by Andreoff and Gaborik.

In the 3rd period at Gila River Arena it's still 4-3 Coyotes. Kings goals by Pearson, Dowd and Richards.

Going to OT in Arizona after Richards tied it up at 4-4 with his second of the game. And on to a shootout.

At Staples in the 3rd Gaborik put the Kings up 3-1 after the Coyotes made it 2-1 but it's now 3-2 after the Coyotes scored again. 7:13 left

Coyotes won the shootout in Glendale. Nobody could beat Smith and the Coyotes scored twice on Bartosak.

At Staples the Kings just took back-to-back penalties with only 3+ minutes left. Gotta stay out of the box when it gets this close to the end of games. Coyotes pulled the goalie and now essentially have a 2-man advantage.

Once again the Kings get in penalty trouble late. Kopitar got called for covering the puck with his hand giving the Coyotes a 2-man advantage and with the goaltender pulled it was a 6-on-3 and they tied it up right off the faceoff. Now the game at Staples Center is going to OT tied up at 3-3 and Arizona is still on the power play. 4-on-3 to start the overtime.

In another shootout at Staples Center. Kopitar scored but so did Vermette. Shore scored and DeLauriers stopped the final Coyotes shooter in round 4 so the Kings win 4-3 in a shootout. After all that each home team wins in a shootout. Smith beat Bartosak in Arizona and DeLauriers beat Dubnyk in LA.

Thanks for the coverage Ox! I'll continue making the GDT's once the season starts unless anyone has any objections. For preseason games though I'm probably not going to be posting about them.

Listened to the game at Staples on the radio, sounds like Kopitar & Gaborik picked right back up where they left off chemistry wise.

They looked sloppy here in AZ. I will say that Richards looks like a beast right now. Not sure if it will last, but I hope that it does.

Yeah im glad to see Richards, Carter, Toffoli, Pearson going and Kopitar and Gaborik looking great again.

Jones played great in LA for the first half so thats all im really worried about. None of the other goalies will make it to the team so its whatever for me.

The Kings getting into penalty trouble? Shocker considering they were the third highest penalized team in the league in 2013-14.

Having a solid PK works, but why put yourself in that position to begin with?

I really thought that over all the D-men that I saw at this game were solid but rusty. There were a few times that they were out of position.
To answer your question I did not pay much attention to McNabb, I was more interested in Richards. And so far I liked what I saw.
