How can you possibly be so sure of what is going on in his head a year in advance no less?
The relationship he had with Brown in SA makes me think the familiarity would have led to re-signing. And I think there is a trainer in Philly that was also in SA.

Not that it matters now.

I'm not saying you're wrong but 90% certain, with all he's said about LA? Come on man.

It's funny that just a couple of months ago I said trading Ingram and Kuzma would be too much and I got blasted for it.

Amazing how things change...

You also included Deng in the deal.

You do realize the Spurs got an All-NBA player in return, right? Plus another player plus a pick.

Salaries had to match

It doesn't matter. It still hurts the value of Kuzma and Ingram. You don't just get to say "Well salaries had to match so here's a complete albatross of a contract that you will be stuck with for the next 2 seasons.

And they didn't need to match after July 6th

Equal value to what? Kuzma and Ingram? If their objective is an immediate success then superior value.

Yeah I have to give the Spurs alot of credit. Losing Green is tuff, but Derozan is still reasonably young and certainly more skilled that what the Lakers could give. Gutsy move by Toronto. They better have a plan to keep him

You honestly think DeRozan by himself is better than both Ingram and Kuzma? GTFOH.

Both guys averaged over 16ppg with less than two years combined NBA experience.

Lowe: What the Kawhi trade means for Raptors, Spurs and NBA

Apparently the Spurs demanded the Sixers give up Simmons or Embiid in the deal which was never going to happen.

I'm not sure there was any offer the Spurs would have accepted from the Lakers.
yah thats sure what it looked like. Seems they valued getting back an All Star caliber player-- and not prospects. Kuzma and Ingram seem to be talented youngsters- but if either becomes a multi time all star and all nba player like Derozan I would be utterly shocked.

Derozan being under contract is huge too- 27M seems like a lot--- but its a pittance compared to what some guys will get next year

Like Kemba Walker's contract will probably blow that out of the water and DeRzoan is better than Kemba.

So? DeRozan was an All-NBA player last year. One All-NBA player is better than 2 non-all stars, and pretty far from being all-stars.
