    Gerrit Cole is better than Sonny Gray and better than their 4th and 5th SPs from last year. So their pitching rotation immediately got better. Also, they've kept every single key component from their Championship roster.

    Gray has a better career ERA+ and he faces a DH.

    On average, Cole has more strikeouts per game, more IP per game, less walks, less HRs and he is averaging 16 wins a season while Gray is around 13.

    Cole's ERA is 3.5. Gray's is 3.45. If your decision is based on a .05 difference in ERA, I would suggest that you do more research.
