The bible which is a history of the early years of man 6000 years ago does say that there were giants in those day, but does not say how big the giants were. I don't believe for a minute that the giants were so big that they had dinosaurs for pets, but it's possible that the giants mentioned in the bible lived prior to Adam and Eve and hunted some of the smaller ones for food. It is most likely that the animals died off before man was ever around. I do believe there were tribes that roamed the earth long before the story of Adam and Even was supposed to have happened though
