John Saunders is dead

I hate to see anyone die at the age of 61. But as an ND fan, my memory of John Saunders is him saying that Notre Dame was a racist institution because they fired Ty Willingham without giving him a full five years. I remember him saying that U of Washington administrators were geniuses for grabbing Ty when he became available and that he would soon have them on the right track. The bottom line is that Ty didn't recruit. He thought that is what assistant coaches were for. After he drove Washington down to an 0-12 season, I stopped hearing Saunders talk about what a great coach he was. It's probably petty of me to drag this up, but he hated ND and loved it every time we lost during 2006 and 2007.

But anyways, any word on his cause of death yet? Could it be a possible suicide?

I don't know, but they said he was suffering from depression, so that's always a possibility.

I was taught never to speak ill of the dead so I'll leave it at that. His remarks and treatment of ND were unfair but condolences to his family.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, however in the article it does say that he could have possibly committed suicide :/ was a great guy.

It's been days and I haven't heard a peep on the cause of death. I think that's a sign that it might not have been accidental.

I mean maybe it was Natural Causes but I doubt it, I believe it was suicide I mean he did have depression.

Would have been very easy to come out and say that.

He was found un-responsive that's all I've heard. If it was a heart attack I'm surprised no one's said so.

You are not a racist when you hire minority employees, but you are a racist when you fire them. Clearly, the color of Willingham's skin was the only reason ND fired him. Willingham got his 5th year at Washington and lead the Huskies to a winless season, their first in 119 years. Do you think Saunders called UW racist when they fired his ass?
