Welcome to Seattle, home of the worst announcers in the NFL. Nobody likes to make the flight so we get the least of the least. Someone said they got the game in Seattle this weekend. ARARARGHHGHHHH!

Yeah, why does fox like joe buck so much? I haven't met a soul that actually like his commentary. Sometimes I just play music instead of listen to his annoying voice spew stupid crap.

What would be the best FOX crew?

Cannot stand Aikman and Buck anymore; Lynch is up-and-down. Siragusa can be annoying as heck... Aikman was okay - even when he did Cowboys games - but he seems to have been infected by Buck, and when the Cowboys play, it is hard to think of a bigger homer announcer around, to the point where IMO he should be banned from doing Cowboys games...

Aikman is turning into the next Pat Summerall. He's more often than not 3 steps behind the action. Years of hard living have taken a toll.

Or..... record the game like I do, skip the between plays BS, make your own replays, but still get the crowd noise and signal calling.

As soon as you catch up to live TV, you go make a sandwhich or take a leak or grab a beverage.....

It's always funny to me when I read that, because a ton of Cowboys fans seem to feel that he goes out of his way to be negative about Dallas. I've concluded that he pretty much can't say shit without hurting someone's vagina at this point.

this is funny, this topic came up on another seahawks board. I was shocked by the hate....for basically EVERY crew. I mean obviously I would prefer to listen to Raible and Moon on seattle radio, but honestly, "syncing" the radio and tv. I dont care nearly enough to do that.

I guess by the other teams fans take, Im in the minority in that I really don't care either way about who calls the game.

If you MADE me choose, I would say Chris Collinsworth and John Gruden are my favorite guys on a call. But the amount of shits I give are nearly zero.

I have tried to figure out what makes them so annoying.

Part of it seems to be when 1 team starts to dominate, they both go overboard.
Troy rips apart the losing team while at the same time Buck can't stop praising the winning team or vice versa.

They don't bug me that much but like I say, because I record I don't hear them that much....

I think people need to remember that commentators probably seem boring or overly obvious when they drone on and on, but it's for a purpose. We hear them talking about how a WR is going to need to get better separation or some other little thing like that and we go "well , duh. Tell me something I don't know". But the comments aren't really meant for the die hard football fan like us. We already know the intricacies of the game and we know why, how, what the teams are doing from play to play. Buck and Aikman and the rest of them aren't explaining the game to us, they are explaining it to new fans, casual fans, young fans, foreign fans, non-fans, and anyone else who may have switched to that channel for a moment.


The fact that you find some of the announcers lame probably just means you have a better than average understanding of football than most. The game (even the obvious stuff) still needs to be explained to less committed fans (like my wife for example).
