The Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl will be on December 18th between the top ranked MWC team and the 5th best Pac-12 team. That's right, no joke. Kimmel won a bidding war for the first LA Bowl.

I heard an interview with him, and the bowl sponsorship group reached out to Jimmy because they wanted him involved with the game promotion. He asked, jokingly, if they could name it after him, and they said yes.

Actually, most people never could understand what Coach Pete was saying when he was excited.

His mind worked to fast for his mouth. He would start out talking about one thing and finish talking about some other
thing.

He had such jewels as..."Men, I want you to stand in a straight line and form a circle." Or, for the National Anthem
you will stand on your helmets and hold the sidelines under your arms."

But the man could coach up players and he knew how to hire young assistant coaches. His assistants could form a
who's who of NFL Coaches in the Hall of Fame.
