Reading some of his interviews and reading news outlets you get the impression he is not well liked and deemed a kid with an attitude. I also hear that for us in Boston, he would not fit in as he does not get along with past Marquette players including Crowder? Truth or Wrong Perception? For sure Boston does not need a Rondo like person here

one interesting thing i read the other day is that Ainge does not do trades he does not emphatically win.....

Rondo for Crowder and a 1st rounder.

Getting KG from Minnesota for Al Jeff and hte pupu platter

the Nets trade sending KG and Pierce for TONS AND TONS of picks

with the Cavs/Nets getting Zeller and a 1st rounder for taking on salary

getting Isiah Thomas for a 1st rounder when the Suns had soured on him and the 3pg approach they tried to go with.

the Celtics DONT make a deal unless the other party is in a distressed situation and they really win the deal big time....there are obvious plusses and minusses to this approach.

Sounds like the C's should have been all over Boogie, no?

The fact that they weren't... and appear to be only lukewarm on Butler... suggests they also factor in the mental side of things and whether a guy is a good locker room fit.

That's what I suppose, anyways.

that- and i think Ainge is determined to build this thing organically for the long term. He probably doesnt think even with Cousin they could beat the Cavs/Warriors

why not just keep adding tons of young talent to a team with a great coach, and a great collection of guys.....

if Boston REALLY REALLY WANTED to- they couldve freaking had Butler AND Cousins i bet...but it just doesnt seem to be Ainge's style.

I think Terry Rozier is gonna be solid PG too- i woudnt give up on that kid.

Damn, I wish we coulda found out on this bolded point.

The C's have multiple guys who could guard Irving. Not that anyone is stopping Irving... but being able to throw Bradley and Smart at the problem is as good a situation as any in the NBA. The big problem would be slowing down LeBron, who has devastated the C's in the past.

With Cousins, though, the C's would have a legitimate chance to outscore Cleveland. Boston's offense would be sick (in theory).

Woulda been a good match-up. If Boston can pull off a trade for Paul George... we might still have fireworks this year.

Butler spread his wrath on head coach Fred Hoiberg. He accused him of coaching “soft” and insinuated that it needed a tougher mindset. Perhaps like former coach Tom Thibodeau?

MORE FROM DA WINDY CITY
Butler’s new attitude appeared to affect the Bulls. The team expected to compete for the Eastern Conference title. Instead, the Bulls ended up as the ninth-best team, not even making it to the playoffs.

Butler said he wants to play with Kyrie
who wouldnt want to play with Kyrie?

damn...i really thought he was gonna pull out that 3 pt contest- that woulda been cool....o well.

I think there is an OUTSIDE chance of a 3 way deal between the Cavs/Twolves/Knicks where the Cavs get Melo without giving up Love. Maybe 10% chance.

supposedly the Cavs last day to use the Varejao trade exception worth 4.2M is today and they are trying to use it.

The Cavs (and Warriors) struggle on defense when they playing against an old school C post-up. Kings beat Cavs last month -- Cousins had a good game. JV of Toronto sometimes gives them low post problems.

BUT -- other teams have to be able to switch & guard on the perimeter and need to make knockdown 3s.

Jimmy was a great fan favorite here his first year. Tough D, explosive blocks, ended up getting compared to Michael Jordan, to the point that some people claim he is the illegitimate child of MJ. (Dont believe it, but you see Jimmy gaze at reporters, he has that same look MJ had)

He got too big, too quick. Bulls front office is a shit show. Watch them move Jimmy, eventually over the next 2 years Hoiberg, Forman and Paxon will all be gone and the team will be farther away from competing. Just think, a superstar with an affordable max deal is complaining his coach does not work the team hard enough in practice.

Pretty sure if Jimmy goes, Wade will go as well.

That rep was not evident nationally until these last few months. I appreciate the comments. I would suspect with his contract being reasonable Boston would like him but risk is high enough they may only give the 2018 or 2019 pick and maybe Yabusule, Rozier or the like. Maybe Avery but thats seems too much

It was not until he got benched for answering a reporters question, which Wade answered the same way. We all knew he was not getting enough help this year, they want to get younger and more athletic, so Valentine and Portis sit and watch from the bench. We have no point guards that can shoot, but they all still shoot. The whole deal is, you move a guy that wants to work more, who is going to be the leader?

there are still rumors that Embid is on his way to chicago, I dont think it will be for Jimmy, but it would be because Jimmy is here.

Everyone should respect how much Jimmy has improved every year in the league. After 1 year, he looked like a bust ... after 2 years he looked like a defensive specialist.

I heard him on a podcast talk about his workout routine in off-season -- very impressive.

Why would the 6ers trade Embiid?

Only way that happens is if they know something about Embiid's health that the rest of the league does not. If they trade him, buyer beware. He looks like he has legit superstar potential.

He's not a headcase. The Bulls front office just treats him poorly and he's fed up with it. Go listen to Ryen Russillo, who is trustworthy and doesn't put anything out there just for the hell of it, relay the stories he's heard NBA execs tell about Butler and that FO. The gist of it is that they misled him on his contract extension and he did not appreciate the way they undermined Thibs (which they did), who Butler really liked. The Chicago FO historically does not have a good reputation with its players and coaches. Get Butler out of Chicago and he'll be fine.
