Pruitt was a 2013 finalist for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top college football assistant coach, and is again a finalist in 2016.





He has never won it....but by golly he WAS a finalist....twice!

It think it was around 5 who had some kind of negotiations on the table, but that doesn't count the Gruden, Peterson, Kiffin rumors. If you're going on all the names thrown out there it's probably closer to 20.

Gruden was never really a real candidate or offered, imo. I'm 100% convinced Schaino was Haslms #1 choice.

I agree 100%. I think Schiano had a spoken agreement with Currie/Haslams less than a week after the Georgia game and they wanted Butch to do decent enough to go to the Independence or Birmingham bowl so they could announce it all at the end of the season. Then shit got worse and they fired Butch and in the back of their mind knew they were going to hire Schiano. Haslam interviewed and wanted him in Cleveland last coaching search but the GM went a different direction. Currie wouldn't have been in the Bahamas watching basketball over the Thanksgiving holiday if he didn't already know he was going to announce Schiano en route to kick off the craziest coaching search known to man.
