After seeing how Kirby has done, I'm not so sure how true your statement is. Before I would of agreed 100%, now bout 50%

Our defense didn't miss a beat when Kirby left so I'm not sure why you would think otherwise.

Kirby is a good coach no doubt, and probably has learned a ton from Saban while he was here, but when times got tough, Saban runs the defense.

I'm sure Sabans defense didn'tmiss a beat but I'm just saying I don't think Saban had as much to do with the defense as I once thought. Sure he's got his hand in every part of the game but the defense was his baby. I just think now that Kirby is out running his own team and so on that he had a lot to do with the Tide's defense as well.

Your logic is illogical.

So after Kirby's departure from Bama, it's agreed upon that the defense in Tuscaloosa didn't drop off. Therefore it is your belief that Kirby did more to our defense than you thought because now Kirby is running his own team that has had a great year?

Kirby went to UGA with a stacked defense. He's definitely recruiting well, but I'm still going to hold the jury out on Coach Smart for a couple more seasons. A lot of coaches have done great 1 year, and have been 'meh' the rest. We shall see, but I hope he's as good as he's showing this year.
