The idea of releasing him was entertained around here but I am kind of surprised the timing is for all intents and purposes right before the draft. Kind of curious why they chose now as the time to cut him.

Its not too terribly surprising outside of the timing. It makes you wonder if they are still a team looking to trade up for a QB at this point.

I don't really get that either, it's not like the cap space matters all that much right now. Maybe they feel they have enough or maybe his injury wasn't progressing?
