You have lost your starting job from here on out, you’re a Texas boy. Come to Austin....You will start ASAP....

He's a good kid. I can see him staying and/or transferring.

I don't think he has a future in the NFL and he probably realizes that as well, but he does have a future in coaching and could benefit sticking around.

But if he transfers, can't blame him either.

Don't know about next year, but I think Rising is the future at QB.

And could get his record as a starter back to .500 pretty easily.

I know, at Nebraska too.

Well, that’s what I’m hoping but according to several Orangebloods on this board, you can’t win with a true frosh at QB at Texas. You can at UGA and now Bama, but for some reason we need years to win at UT with young talent.....but yeah, Rising looks promising.....

I would love to see him stay and work in some other roles.

100% agree with your second point too, definitely could see him staying for that.

When you signed him I never imagined he'd have been a Qb this long. He has no future at the position and I'd say Saban is the only coach that would have let him play QB and gotten this much out of him.

No way in hell he could transfer to any P5 program and see the field at QB.

I still think we could have won with him tonight with better play calling. I feel bad for the kid because they keep asking him to stand in the pocket and be a pocket passer and he's just not that guy. When we just stick to running the ball we have more success. But for some reason we always drive down inside the 40 with the run all game, and then we would pass and fuck it up with Hurts.

All Alabama fans have been itching to see Tua though. His release is just crazy and he has great vision.

Is he a product of the Saban system? He puts up underwhelming numbers. Don’t know how he’d fare in the Big 12 where passing is much more prevalent.

If Tua is as good as he showed tonight, I suspect Saban is going to have a hard time starting Hurts next year. That said, Hurts showed himself to be a class act and handled the demotion in a very mature manner.

He showed a lot of character tonight. And afterwards with a mic in his face.

Hope a lot of kids stayed up to watch. Because he was example tonight of a great teammate. And we don't credit people enough for being selfless. Especially young people.

Tua is the real deal, he was going to start next year regardless IMO.

At least Hurts got to avenge his Clemson loss last year in the semi-final.
